UCSF School of Pharmacy scientist Brian K. Shoichet, PhD was named by Thomson ISI in September 2003 for having written a Hot Paper in the field of chemistry.
An ISI Hot Paper is one that has been highly cited in scientific research literature in the last year. A citation occurs when one group of scientists references a paper that has been previously published as informing its own work. Shoichet's paper is among the top 0.1% of all cited papers in the field of chemistry in the last 12 months.
