This page describes the surveys implemented in the making of Pressing Ahead in New Directions: Strategic Course 2007-2012.
Survey recipients were invited to respond to two surveys during the planning process. Responses to the surveys were anonymous. Web server log file data related to these surveys remains unconditionally confidential and are not connected in any way to the responses collected.

Survey #1
Survey #1 was distributed after all one-on-one interviews of select interviewees were completed. The interviews helped form the questions posed in this survey, which was intended to further identify recurring issues and concerns and potential new directions for the School.
Themes emerged from the results of Survey #1 and all interview and secondary information gathered before it. The dean’s leadership group evaluated those themes for their immediacy, potential, and feasibility.

Listed below are current and potential strategic and operational activities for the School over the next five years. Some of these activities are under way; some are proposed. Many of these activities are related and even overlapping. By tweezing them apart in the list below, we call better attention to specific themes for the purpose of your evaluation.
The list was developed from input by faculty members during our recent faculty retreat, subsequent faculty interviews, and the web-based survey #1 sent to you all on August 24. This list has been vetted by the leadership group.
Results of this current survey will be the basis of a small strategic planning retreat being planned for January or February. Retreat attendees will include the leadership group and select younger faculty who represent the work of the School into the future.

Specialized faculty and staff might need to be considered as initiatives take shape.
