CDC flu vaccination campaign awards UCSF video
By UCSF School of Pharmacy Editorial Staff / Tue Feb 22, 2011
For her public service announcement video entry, You vs. the Flu, UCSF student pharmacist Madalene Mandap received the grand prize in a U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) competition to encourage the public to get vaccinated for the 2010-2011 flu season. The competition supports the CDC's U.S. flu vaccination campaign, The Flu Ends with U, and appears on the CDC's campaign website.
“Madalene's entry is a great example of the passion our student pharmacists have for community service. They are out there, everywhere, making sure people get the best use of medicines, including flu vaccines,” says Robin Corelli, PharmD, UCSF School of Pharmacy faculty member.
Mandap is donating much of her $2,500 award to UCSF School of Pharmacy community service projects that help people meet their medication needs.
