Operations Analyst

In my role as operations analyst in the Office of Finance and Administration, I work on various projects and initiatives for the Dean’s Office:

Coordinate information technology support and information system asset management, coordinate space, provide operational support to Dean’s programs, curriculum transformation, managing the vice dean and associate dean of administration and finance's calendar, working on education-related initiatives, act as human resources liaison and safety officer, and work with the Office of Planning and Communications for key communications.

Michael Nordberg, MPA/HSA

Assoc Dean-Admin & Finance

As associate dean, I manage financial and administrative resources for the Dean’s Office. I provide guidance on UCSF, UC systemwide, state, and federal policies that regulate and have an impact on the School of Pharmacy. I also represent the School on campus committees dealing with finance, research, information technology, and space.

James Joves, EdD, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

As the chief financial officer I am responsible for all aspects of the School of Pharmacy's finance and administrative resources, including research administration, decision support and data analytic systems, reporting, and strategic planning. In collaboration with the associate dean for finance and administration, I direct the School's operational budget. I also manage the development and implementation of strategic and programmatic plans to support the School's initiatives and infrastructure. As a senior member of the School's management team, I collaborate with the associate deans, department chairs, and finance managers in the management of financial and administrative issues.


As the project manager for the School's integrated curriculum, I work closely with the vice dean of education and Curriculum Team members to develop, implement, and maintain a fully integrated, 3 year, theme based curriculum.

Kylie Leung, MA

Education Coordinator

As a member of the Office of Education and Instructional Services (OEIS), I coordinate the logistics for the first-year didactic courses in the PharmD curriculum, including exams, OSCEs, educational technology, and active learning activities. I work closely with the faculty to ensure all administrative aspects of the course run smoothly and am a resource on education technology-related questions for student pharmacists and faculty.

James Ferguson

Education Coordinator

As the coordinator for PharmD experiential education in the Office of Education and Instructional Services (OEIS), I work with Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) students, faculty, and preceptors. I coordinate a wide range of administrative functions to support experiential education and am a resource for students and faculty.

Polly Chew


I am the Education Assistant to the staff of the Office of Education and Instructional Services (OEIS). I work with faculty and staff preparing their workshops, events and conferences. Other responsibilities include My Expense, HR Paperwork regarding student’s appointments, scheduling meetings, reserving rooms, ordering food and supplies and other administrative support as needed.

OEIS is like a second family and we are a great team!

UCSF, Walgreens open pharmacy to jointly explore new models of care

A unique new pharmacy developed to explore more effective models of medication management and pharmacist-based patient care, improving drug safety and efficacy by reducing medication errors and lapses, officially opened with a ribbon cutting on the Parnassus campus on Tuesday.

“Walgreens at UCSF,” located across the street from UCSF Medical Center, is a joint effort between the nation’s largest drug store chain, the UCSF School of Pharmacy, and the Medical Center.
