Robotic pharmacy featured on CNN

The robotic pharmacy at UCSF Medical Center was featured on Cable News Network (CNN) on April 22, 2010, in the report 21st Century Pharmacy. By automating the dispensing of medications, UCSF aims to improve medication safety and free the pharmacist to spend more time improving drug therapy, explained Lynn Paulsen, PharmD, UCSF Medical Center’s director of pharmaceutical services, who was highlighted in the report. The robotic pharmacy first began the automated dispensing of medications to UCSF hospital patients in October 2010.
