The Dean’s Office of the UCSF School of Pharmacy supports the agendas of the dean and, ultimately, the School’s three departments and their faculties, through activities in its education, administrative, and advisory units.

Dean’s Office leadership team
Vice Dean Youmans ensures the success and continuing development of the School’s academic programs, in particular the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree program, and programs intended to strengthen the School’s diversity and culture of understanding, inclusion, equity, and respect.
Through her professional lens of pharmacy practice and public health, Youmans teaches at UCSF on the topics of public health, communication, and cultural competence. Her research interests include health communication, health disparities, global health, and pharmacy education. She earned a PharmD degree from UCSF, an MPH from San Jose State University, and completed a pharmacy residency at California Pacific Medical Center. She joined the UCSF School of Pharmacy faculty in 2001 and was appointed vice dean in 2013.

Assistant deans work with area directors of advanced pharmacy practice programs in providing administrative support, mentoring, and instruction to UCSF's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students and faculty members as well as the California Poison Control System.
Dean’s Office executive support
Executive Assistant to the Dean Crosby reports to the dean and is primarily responsible for supporting all administrative needs of the dean, which include managing the dean’s calendar, anticipating and preparing dean’s communications, supporting the Dean’s Leadership Group, representing the dean and the School to internal and external constituents, triaging and answering inquiries, and prioritizing work in a rapidly changing environment. She works closely with colleagues in the Office of Administration to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the central Dean’s Office.
