I serve as the executive director of the California Poison Control System (CPCS) within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy. My focus is system management and financial stability of the CPCS.

Biography
Dr. Heard is the Executive Director of the California Poison Control System (CPCS), a business unit of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy, University of California, San Francisco. He is also Associate Dean and Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, UCSF School of Pharmacy. Prior to his appointment to the CPCS, Dr. Heard was in Pharmacy management with the San Francisco Department of Public Health from 1986-1996 and from 1974-1986 with University Hospitals of Cleveland, Ohio. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy and residency training from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Pharmacy. Dr. Heard is a Fellow of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) and is a past President of the Golden Gate Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and past member of the CSHP Board of Directors. He is also a Past President of the American Association of Poison Control Centers.
