As the Assistant Director of Experiential Education, I work with the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Program Directors and educational leaders to ensure quality assurance and consistency of the SF Bay Area program with the UCSF SOP Experiential Education programs in other locations. I conduct continuous process improvement and identify areas for growth of experiential sites and develop relationships with institutional and community pharmacy professionals and staff to cultivate the SF Bay Area experiential program. In addition, I partner with the coordinator staff in the Office of Education and Instructional Services to ensure that Experiential Education related activities are efficient, effective, and appropriately documented.

My research interests include post-marketing drug safety addressing the health and economic impacts of adverse drug events, drug shortages and interchangeability of therapeutic alternatives and appropriateness of prescription and utilization patterns of pharmaceuticals, particularly, opioid analgesics, antipsychotics and systemic antibiotics. The overarching goal of my research is to enhance prescription drug safety and improve patient outcomes while containing the cost of care.
