Koda-Kimble Seed Award recipients explore 'blue-sky' projects

Recipients of the UCSF School of Pharmacy 2017 Mary Anne Koda-Kimble Seed Award for Innovation will explore ideas ranging from possible new ways to treat obesity to new ways of accessing antibiotic-producing microbes found in soil. Five projects are being funded in this, the third round of awards since the fund was established in 2012.

Poster presentations of current research of School of Pharmacy Department of Clinical Pharmacy students, fellows, residents, and faculty. Faculty and students from other departments and schools are invited to attend. During the seminar, three posters will be selected for Gary Rifkind Award.

MOC Program Coordinator

As the Medication Outcomes Center (MOC) Project Coordinator, I administer the logistics of high-level committee meetings each month. This includes collaborating with the MOC director and chairs to determine agenda items, assembling presentations, recording meeting minutes, conducting electronic voting, and placing catering orders. I also assist faculty and staff with updating the pharmacy departmental intranet site.

Program Pharmacist

I am a clinical pharmacist for the UCSF School of Pharmacy servicing patients in 7 Primary Care Clinics. My primary role includes developing pharmacy services and serving as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents. My areas of focus for clinical services include chronic disease state management (diabetes and hypertension), comprehensive medication management, and transitional care management utilizing in-person and virtual communications with patients.
