What I do

I serve as the Dean’s strategic advisor, provide oversight and guidance to high priority initiatives, and lead key strategic cross-functional and transformational projects. I help to coordinate the Dean’s activities to maximize productivity and impact and frequently join or represent the Dean at various meetings, committees, and events.

As part of the Dean’s Office, I work closely with the School of Pharmacy leadership team to develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic and operational plans. I also serve as the Executive Director of the UCSF-Stanford Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation (CERSI).

Biography

Lawrence Lin, PhD, is Vice Dean and Chief of Staff in the UCSF School of Pharmacy. In this role, he is the senior strategic advisor to the Dean, provides oversight and guidance to high priority initiatives, and leads key strategic cross-functional and transformational projects. Dr. Lin frequently joins or represents the Dean at various meetings, committees, and events and works closely with school leadership to develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic and operational plans. In addition, he serves as the Executive Director of the UCSF-Stanford Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation (CERSI), an FDA-funded regulatory science center based at UCSF and Stanford University that seeks to advance regulatory science through collaborative research, education, and outreach activities. Before joining the School of Pharmacy Dean’s Office, Dr. Lin served in a variety of scientific and operational roles at UCSF for over ten years. Dr. Lin received a B.S. in Biological Sciences with additional majors in Anthropology and History from Carnegie Mellon University, and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics from the University of California, San Francisco.
