Jaekyu Shin, PharmD
What I do
I teach and precept pharmacy students and work with underserved populations at San Francisco General Hospital. My research focuses on the clinical application of cardiovascular pharmacogenetic tests and pharmacoepidemiology.

I provide clinical services at Comprehensive Pharmacy Care Clinic at San Francisco General Hospital, a referral-based clinic to help resolve various pharmacy issues (e.g., medication reconciliation, adherence, education, access, and dose titration).
My research interests are clinical application of pharmacogenomics and cardiovascular pharmacoepidemiology. In addition, I have used my SAS programming skills to analyze the Medi-Cal database.
I am a Director of a 2nd year pharmacy student course, Therapeutics II, which covers cardiovascular therapeutics. I also serve as a co-preceptor of Cardiology Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) and Ambulatory Care APPE. I am a member of UCSF School of Pharmacy Education Policy Committee and Core Science & Practice of Therapeutics Committee for developing Bridges Pharmacy Curriculum. I am participating in the 2014-2015 Teaching Scholars Program in order to build upon my teaching and education research skills.
