Mackenzie Lee, a PharmD candidate in the UCSF School of Pharmacy Class of 2026, has been honored with the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) Student Leadership Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to CSHP and the pharmacy profession.

The annual award celebrates pharmacy students who exemplify leadership, service, and commitment to advancing pharmacy practice. Lee, who completed her undergraduate degree at University of California Los Angeles, is UCSF student chapter president of the CSHP Golden Gate Chapter.

During her time at UCSF, Lee has been involved in student leadership and professional development activities, including with the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists-California Pharmacists Association. Her experiences have helped shape her passion for improving patient care and advocating for the profession’s evolving role in health systems.

"I aim to put the best patient care practices and principles into every encounter to ensure the best care possible," said Lee. "I hope to spread the joy of exploring new fields and meeting new people, as I myself continue to pursue curiosity and encourage curiosity in others."

Lee’s involvement with CSHP has provided her with opportunities to collaborate with peers and mentors across California. In her role with the CSHP mentorship program, she hopes to inspire future pharmacy students to pursue leadership opportunities and get involved in professional organizations early in their training.
