Youmans Receives 2025 UCSF Pharmacy Alumni Association Alum of the Year

School of Pharmacy Executive Vice Dean and Department of Clinical Pharmacy professor Sharon Youmans, PharmD ’85, MPH, has been awarded the UCSF Pharmacy Alumni Association’s highest honor, the Alum of the Year Award, recognizing a career of thoughtfully directing brilliant minds toward their potential and ensuring equitable access for the next generation of health professionals.

Youmans worked in San Francisco hospitals and completed her residency before joining UCSF’s faculty in 2001. Beyond traditional academic roles, Youmans champions opportunities for students by directing the Pharm Tech to PharmD Pathway Program and mentoring students in the Interprofessional Health Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program.

“People were generous enough to open doors for me,” Youmans said. “I was smart enough to walk through them.”
