The Quantitative Biosciences Institute at UCSF, in collaboration with the Institute of Global Health at UCSF, presents the opening reception for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Photographic Exhibition “Stronger There, Safer Here.”

The exhibition highlights the Agency’s response to the devastating Zika virus epidemic in Latin America and the Caribbean through a compelling display of images by professional photographers. Accompanying texts describe the approaches USAID, affected countries, and partners have taken to build local capacity to limit the impact and spread of Zika.

At this event, you will hear from advocates and experts working to combat Zika within our global health community including:

  • Christina Chappell, Deputy Director of the Office of Infectious Disease, USAID
  • B. Joseph Guglielmo, Dean, UCSF School of Pharmacy
  • Nevan Krogan, PhD, Director of the Quantitative Biosciences Institute, UCSF
  • George Rutherford, Director of Global Strategic Information at the Institute of Global Health
