Commencement speaker

Joselyn Raymundo, PharmD '1998
Joselyn Raymundo began her career in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman. She was awarded an educational grant under the G.I. Bill, which enabled her to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of California, San Francisco in 1998. Over the next 25 years, she worked as a pharmacist in specialty pharmacies, hospitals and home infusion clinics, founded her own business, and ultimately exited entrepreneurship to advise biomedical start-ups as a for-profit and non-profit board member and venture investor.
After leading the development of Children’s Minnesota Hospital’s first home infusion clinic, Raymundo leveraged her expertise in differentiated models of care to found Rochester Home Infusion, Inc. in 2013. Over the next 10 years, she applied a unique approach emphasizing collaboration among health care providers, implementation of the safest practices, and delivery of cost-effective solutions to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the comfort of patients’ homes.
Raymundo’s contributions as an entrepreneurship mentor and a philanthropic leader have garnered her recognition throughout the business community in Rochester, Minnesota. Her investments in phenotypic testing leading the charge in combating obesity, medical device innovation in cardiology and gastroenterology, and carbon capture initiatives have foregrounded the importance of industry innovation for Mayo Clinic’s Destination Medical Center initiative and fostered interdisciplinary collaboration in Rochester’s biomedical start-up ecosystem.
Having exited Rochester Home Infusion, Raymundo has deepened her dedication to Rochester community initiatives. As a board member for The Mayo Clinic’s Destination Medical Center, Raymundo has continuously sought to leverage the $585 million investment from the state of Minnesota in service of economic development, diversification, and innovation. She is also a board member for multiple social advocacy groups.
