Remembering C.C. Wang

Ching C. Wang, PhD, a beloved UCSF School of Pharmacy researcher and professor, known for bringing molecular biology and biochemistry to parasitology, and for his work on the antiparasitic medicine ivermectin, died last week at the age of 80. To his wide circle of colleagues and friends, he was known simply as “C.C.”

Judy Sakanari, PhD

As a parasitologist I am interested in developing drugs to treat parasitic diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. I work with a number of collaborators to identify drug candidates using a multifaceted screening funnel and to develop innovative tools to accelerate the discovery of novel drugs.
