Five Pharmacy Women at Mission Bay

By early spring 2004, five female scientists from the UCSF School of Pharmacy will have moved to Mission Bay, the University of California San Francisco's new 43-acre research campus.

Kuntz Receives Volwiler Award

Irwin (Tack) D. Kuntz, PhD, professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, UCSF School of Pharmacy has been named the 2003 Volwiler Research Achievement Award recipient by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).

Ban Voted on Tobacco Industry Funds

UCSF faculty members voted last December 52% to 48% to no longer accept funds from manufacturers of tobacco products or their subsidiaries. Those in favor of the ban argued that UCSF must oppose tobacco industry funding of academia since the health sciences campus is a leader in tobacco control policies and the fight against nicotine addiction and tobacco use prevention.
