Web Communicators Working Group

Increasing web quality and consistency

The Web Communicators Working Group (WCWG) in the School of Pharmacy increases the quality and consistency of the School's web presence by uniting the School's web communicators and leveraging our technical, editorial, and management skills to:

  • Better integrate School web communications
  • Develop and implement technical and editorial standards for the web
  • Deliver consistent messages about the School on the web
  • Create a more consistent web image across the School
  • Increase the efficiency with which we approach web communications, especially in this time of shrinking state resources.

Formed in January 2010, the group is currently composed of web owners and web workers from each of the School's 3 departments as well as the Dean's Office communications team. It is led by Associate Dean of Planning and Communications Susan Levings and coordinated by Dean's Office Web Developer Eric Davila. The group meets at least monthly. At each meeting we debate several aspects of how our various websites can be made more consistent or meet specific standards of quality, and decisions are made. Following each meeting, web workers implement the decisions which were made.

The group's work is summarized in our School of Pharmacy Web Standards which describes the criteria that all School websites will eventually be encouraged to meet.
