Minimum Compliance Templates

The UCSF Banner

Minimum compliance is met by implementing the top-of-page bar header on all your site's pages. This bar header is also referred to as "the UCSF banner." The banner comes in 3 official University colors: Black banner, Gray banner, and Teal banner. Choose whichever color looks best on all your pages -- your home page in particular.

Why Use It?

Since the banner template matches the banner style for the UCSF home page, it instantly communicates that your site is part of UCSF. It reinforces the University's current style of presentation. It also provides links that are consistent across the University when more Web sites use the banner.

How Do I Implement It?

Templates which include the banner are provided at Web Templates. Since the banner may change over time, we strongly recommend that you implement it in a manner that makes maintenance simple, such as using server-side methods to include one file within another. In other words, don't paste the banner code in at the top of each of your pages separately -- use template, scripting, or Web server solutions instead.
