Multimedia

When using animation, audio, video, 3-D modeling, interactive applications (Shockwave, Flash), or other similar plug-ins:

  1. Read Low-End Media for User Empowerment, then reconsider whether you can afford to do the extra work that good multimedia requires. If the answer is yes:
  2. Follow Guidelines for Multimedia on the Web.
  3. Follow Web accessibility guidelines to ensure that the same content is available to people with disabilities as well as a wide range of devices.
  4. Perform usability testing with typical site visitors before, during, and after implementation to ensure that your designs are on track.
