For existing sites: Determine the name of the server, the server's administrator, the Web server software installed on it, and what other capabilities the server has, such as PHP, ASP, JSP, HTTPS, SSH, and so forth. Ask your supervisor or the server's admin to grant you access (which is typically a login and password and appropriate permissions).
