HIPAA training (patient privacy)

As members of the UCSF campus community, all UCSF students are responsible for understanding and following the privacy and security regulations which fall under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

HIPAA training for 1st-year PharmD students entering in fall 2013

Step 1

Take the self-directed training module:

Step 2

Read and review the handbook:

Requires Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

Step 3

Sign the confidentiality agreement:

and submit it to the E-Valu system* by Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

The signed HIPAA agreement will be placed in your academic file in the Office of Student & Curricular Affairs (OSACA).

All 1st-year students must complete HIPAA training and submit a signed agreement to the E-Valu system* Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

3rd-year student pharmacists are required to complete additional HIPAA training prior to entering Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs).

*Instructions regarding your E-Valu account will be provided at Orientation.
