Set Up Webmail

Webmail at UCSF is also known as mail@UCSF and also known as Outlook Web Access.

These instructions describe how to use a web browser to connect to your UCSF e-mail account. For other methods of connecting to UCSF e-mail, see Set Up E-mail. If you encounter a problem during setup, see Resolve E-mail Problems.

How to Connect

  1. Check that you're using a supported web browser.
  2. Configure your browser to use Javascript and accept cookies and pop-up windows for the domain called exchange.ucsf.edu. If you have trouble with this part, see below to contact us for help.
  3. Visit mail@UCSF (also known as Outlook Web Access or OWA):

  4. Use the following information to log in:

    1. Domain: campus
    2. User Name: This is your SAA User ID.
    3. Password:

      New students: Your e-mail password is the same as your SAA PIN, which was disclosed to you in your welcome letter from the Registrar. If you have misplaced or never received your welcome letter, please contact the Office of the Registrar (415/476-8280, Millberry Union 200W) to obtain a duplicate copy.

      Continuing students: Your e-mail password is the same as your Windows password to computers in the IRC computer lab. If you have lost or forgotten your password, see Lost or forgotten password.

If you have tried these steps and have questions or encountered problems, please call 415/514-4100 (Option 2). If possible, be at an internet-connected computer with your web browser open.
