Resolve E-mail Problems

How to resolve problems using your UCSF e-mail account.

Common Problems

  1. Mailbox too full
    You've received an e-mail message from the e-mail administrator saying that your account has reached its limit of storage space for messages.
  2. Trouble changing password
    You're unable to successfully change your password.
  3. Lost or forgotten password
    You lost or forgot your password.
  4. Outlook is trying to retrieve data...
    This message appears in a pop-up balloon, and Outlook seems to hang permanently or for a long time, preventing you from using e-mail.
  5. Resolve spam problems
    (a) I'm getting too much spam and (b) Legitimate messages aren't going into my inbox.
  6. Attachments are missing
    You receive an e-mail that should have had an attachment, but instead of the attachment, you see a message saying that the attachment was removed or deleted or won't display correctly.
  7. Unable to send attachments
    When you attempt to send an e-mail with an attachment, a message appears saying that the attachment is potentially unsafe.
  8. Message is undeliverable
    You've received a message stating "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients" or a similar error message.
