Pharmacy Post-Bacc Program
Since fall 2010, the UCSF School of Pharmacy offers a new post-baccalaureate program. This program is designed for those who have completed the required undergraduate coursework but feel they need a stronger academic foundation to be more competitive in applying to pharmacy school. Program applicants must have been previously unsuccessful in gaining admission to the UCSF School of Pharmacy or any other pharmacy school. We are especially interested in individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, underserved communities, and from groups traditionally underrepresented in the pharmacy profession.
A successful history
The School of Pharmacy Post-Baccalaureate Program is modeled after the long-running, successful post-baccalaureate programs implemented by the UCSF Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. These respective programs are built on a foundation of advanced science coursework, collaborative study, and personalized support in preparing for the professional school application process. Since 1999, post-baccalaureate students in the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry have consistently been successful in gaining admission to health professions schools throughout the United States.
How does it work?
The School of Pharmacy Post-Baccalaureate Program aims to make you more competitive through a similarly comprehensive and structured program. Using a combination of upper-division academic coursework, personalized support in application preparation, and constructive seminars, you'll be able to strengthen your application to pharmacy school. The program begins in late summer and lasts 10 months, preparing you to apply for the following year's application cycle.
