  • Pharm Chem 113 Advanced Organic Chemistry: This course lays the foundation for understanding drug action in terms of specific interactions between drug molecules and biological targets. It focuses on the chemical and structural properties of the major biological macromolecules that interact with drugs.

  • Biochem 112 Human Metabolism: Lectures and clinical problem-solving sessions on the topic of human metabolism, its regulation and its derangements in common metabolic diseases.

  • Anatomy 115 Histology: A study of the microscopic structures of the tissues and organs of the human body by means of lectures, demonstrations, and microscope slides. Functional aspects of the structures are stressed. Intended for students in the School of Pharmacy.

  • CP 112 Pharmacy Practice II: Students are exposed to pharmacy practice, prescription law, patient interviewing and communication skills and continue with the therapeutics of non-prescription products, ethics and home laboratory testing.

  • CP 115 Pharmacy Law & Ethics (formerly CP 122): This class provides an introduction to the scope and authority of programs which relate to the legal and ethical practice of pharmacy. The focus is on a conceptual understanding of regulatory agencies and how pharmacy practically and ethically interacts with them. The lecture format is used but every attempt is made for group participation. Although the lectures are about pharmacy law, there are reading assignments, student learning groups and review lectures to teach the specifics of pharmacy law.
