Housing

UCSF students with families are eligible to apply for housing in Aldea San Miguel Housing at Parnassus.

Health Care

  • Health Insurance - Coverage is available for spouses, domestic partners, and children of UCSF students.
  • Child Care and Elder Care Services - UCSF offers services to help care for younger or older family members.

  • Temporary Employment Program (TEP) - Apply for a temporary administrative support job at UCSF. Family members of UCSF students are strongly encouraged to apply and are given preference over non-affiliated applicants.

Legal Services

UCSF students are automatically enrolled in our legal insurance plan, which enables you to inexpensively set up wills, trusts, and powers of attorney; negotiate tenancy issues; and get other legal advice.

Campus Security

Personal safety is a concern for everyone coming to a new place, and especially for families of students. Despite being an urban campus, UCSF has a very low crime rate, in large part due to the safety consciousness promoted by the UCSF Police Department.

If you visit our campus, the UCSF Police Department has many security services and policies to ensure your safety. UCSF crime bulletins are publically posted to promote awareness and to gather information from potential witnesses. Your awareness can help prevent future crimes.
