These lists are by no means comprehensive, nor are they meant to be. Please use it as a starting point for your career research. The information on these sites changes regularly, so check them regularly and investigate them thoroughly.

Programs, Organizations, Foundations

1. American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) - The national organization representing the interests of pharmacy education and educators.
2. American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) - Advancing and supporting pharmaceutical sciences education at United States schools and colleges of pharmacy.
3. InnoCentive - Enables solvers to receive professional recognition and financial awards for solving R&D challenges.
4. John E. Fogarty International Center (FIC) for Advanced Study in Health Sciences - Addresses global health challenges through innovative and collaborative research and training programs and supports and advances the NIH mission through international partnerships.
5. National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship (NDSEG) - As a means of increasing the number of United States citizens and nationals trained in science and engineering disciplines of military importance, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) plans to award approximately 200 new 3-year graduate fellowships in April 2009, subject to the availability of funds. The DoD will offer these fellowships to individuals who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for advanced training in science and engineering.
6. National Institutes of Health (NIH) - Investigates ways to prevent disease as well as the causes, treatments, and even cures for common and rare diseases.
   1. Office of Extramural Research (OER) - Grants and funding.
   2. National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) - List of grant funding organizations outside of NIH that cover the same areas of science as the NIAID Funding Opportunities List.
   3. Ruth L. Kirchstein National Research Service Awards (NSRA) - See F31, F32, T32 on F Files.
   4. PharmD Gateway to NIH - Grants specific to PharmDs.
7. National Science Foundation (NSF) - An independent federal agency created by the United States Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense..."
8. Pacific Rim Research Program (PRRP) - A multicampus program established to encourage Pacific Rim research on the 10 University of California campuses. It funds 4 types of activities:
   1. Research grants (up to $18,000/year)
   2. Workshop and planning grants (up to $15,000)
   3. Faculty development grants (up to $10,000)
   4. Mini-grants (up to $3,000).
9. Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America Foundation Foundation (PhRMA) - Promotes public health through scientific and medical research and provides funding for research and for the education and training of scientists and physicians who have selected pharmacology, pharmaceutics, toxicology, informatics or health outcomes as a career choice.

Pre-doc study opportunities

1. American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) - Advancing and supporting pharmaceutical sciences education at United States schools and colleges of pharmacy.
2. FDA Pharmacy Student Experiential Program - Learn about the FDA's multidisciplinary processes for addressing public health issues involving drugs, biologics, and medical devices.
3. Fulbright U.S. Student Program - Increases mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through studying, teaching, and conducting research, to exchange ideas and to contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. 4. Pathways to Careers in Clinical & Translational Research Program (PACCTR) - Supports clinical research training for medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy pre-doctoral students for short-term (2- or 3-month) and intensive (1- or 2-year) fellowships at UCSF.

Post-doc study opportunities at UCSF

1. Center for Drug Development Science (CDDS) - An excellent fellowship program for PharmDs and PhDs who are interested in learning about drug development science and pharmacometrics (i.e., quantitative tools in clinical pharmacology)
2. Center for Health and Community (CHC) - Assesses the challenges of the changing health care delivery environment and identifies policies and interventions that will maximize the beneficial impact of the changing health care delivery system.

1.
