Should I upgrade an old computer or buy a new computer?
It doesn't matter to us as long as you meet the requirements.
Should I buy a desktop, minitower, laptop, netbook, or all-in-one computer?
It doesn't matter to us as long as you meet the requirements. However, we strongly recommend laptops. A netbook or tablet may not be your primary or only computer. See Should I Buy a Laptop?
What processor speed should my new computer have?
It doesn't matter to us.
How much hard disk space should my new computer have?
It doesn't matter to us. However, if you plan to store lots of photos or videos on your computer, you should accordingly purchase a larger hard drive to meet your needs.
Can I buy a laptop that doesn't have a DVD drive? (e.g., Apple MacBook Air)
Yes. Our curriculum does not require you to have a DVD drive. Computers in our computer labs still have DVD drives, and Mac users can also make use of Apple's Remote Disc drive-sharing technology.
