To be eligible to apply to the UCSF School of Pharmacy, all applicants, regardless of academic background or prior training, must complete our core prerequisites by September 1 of the year in which they hope to matriculate. These prerequisites may only be completed with course work approved by the Office of Student & Curricular Affairs in the School of Pharmacy.
Public: Checklists of courses approved to fulfill our prerequisites for California community colleges, California State Universities, and University of California campuses appear on the ASSIST Web site at www.assist.org. ASSIST is a web-based student-transfer information system. For details, see A Public California College or University.
Private: Prerequisite checklists with approved courses for private California colleges and universities are available upon request from our office. For details, see A Private California College or University.
Each year, we request catalogs from all schools in California in order to update our approved course prerequisite lists. If we are using outdated information we would appreciate it if you could send our office the most recent catalog and add us to your annual mailing list.
Approved course lists for out-of-state colleges and universities are generated as needed and kept on file for future reference. For details, see Out-of-State College or University.
You can invite a UCSF School of Pharmacy representative to visit your organization's site to meet prospective students, provide information, and answer questions. Details: Request a Speaker.
