Monday, January 5, 2004
By early spring 2004, five female scientists from the UCSF School of Pharmacy will have moved to Mission Bay, the University of California San Francisco's new 43-acre research campus.
Patricia Babbitt, PhD; Pamela England, PhD; Kathy M. Giacomini, PhD; Su Guo, PhD; and Susan Miller, PhD "form a powerful and outspoken group of basic science researchers and exceptional role models to young women," states Mary Anne Koda-Kimble, PharmD, School of Pharmacy dean. "Their work has important implications -- from cleaning toxic waste to tailoring medicines to the special needs of individuals," she adds.
