Room based videoconferencing is a technology that connects a local meeting room with a remote meeting room via digital audiovisual technology. With cameras, microphones, video monitors, video screen, and the telecommunications technology, you can share a meeting or a classroom lecture with a remote site.

Equipment Specification

Desktop videoconferencing

Instead of traveling to a remote site to meet someone, you can use one of the computers in the IRC to do desktop videoconferencing. Before you can begin, you need a remote site IP address, borrow a Logitech Webcam or Polycom ViaVideo from Rodney Yun, and plug it into a USB port. Launch Microsoft NetMeeting and connect to the remote computer.
