The Thomas A. Oliver Informatics Resource Center (IRC) is a multipurpose instructional facility which enables our faculty and students to teach and learn in the presence of a wide variety of computer and communications technology:

Computer Technology

  • 37 networked student workstation computers (Windows)
  • a movable instructor's workstation computer and podium
  • 1 color and 2 black-and-white laser printers
  • a flatbed scanner for digitizing text and images
  • a sheetfed duplex document scanner
  • CD-ROM and DVD burners

Communications Technology

  • large-screen projection from any video source
  • ISDN and internet video teleconferencing
  • video cameras offering multiple views of the room
  • audio headsets with microphones
  • wired and wireless microphones
  • ceiling speakers
