Basic Science Instruction Center
The Basic Science Instruction Center (BSIC) is a multipurpose instructional facility that enables our faculty to teach physical chemistry to PharmD students.
In this lab, students take core courses in physical chemistry and chemical kinetics and a course in bioanalytical theory / technique for pharmaceutical sciences pathway students.
The center consists of two components:
- a teaching laboratory and
- a student research laboratory,
which is used by students in the pharmaceutical sciences pathway during research rotations.
The center has a unique flexible design, so it can be used for laboratory coursework based on experimentation, for example a wet lab, or reconfigured for instruction based on the format of demonstration and workshop, such as the experiential portions of physical chemistry and chemical kinetics.
